Call to the Socialist Bloc 2024 [English]

– Nothing but War and Crisis? – Our Answer: Socialism –

Around the world, we can see how the lives of millions of people are increasingly defined by wars and crises. Whether it’s the inter-imperialist war in Ukraine, which has already claimed tens of thousands of lives on both sides, or the ongoing genocide in Palestine with over 30,000 Palestinians affected. The German state is actively involved in all these wars. For its own profit interests, it literally goes over dead bodies.

And it will continue to do so!

An easing of the international situation is not in sight, and the German state is aware of this. Not for nothing did a unprecedented rearmament campaign start no later than two years ago. Billions are flowing into the arms industry, and the planned reintroduction of conscription is not the result of a spontaneous whim but an expression of the fact that German imperialism is positioning itself for upcoming wars. The times of „peaceful“ conflict resolution are also over for Germany.

War and crisis not on our backs!

While the ruling classes prepare for even larger wars and let the money flow for it, the costs are mainly borne by the working class. This is exemplified by the budget crisis, which foresees massive cutbacks in all areas of our lives. This is also evident in Leipzig with the closing of youth clubs and the cutting of 3,000 daycare places. All this while fought-for wage increases cannot offset the inflation and price increases of recent years.

We will not be divided!

There are plenty of reasons to be angry and take to the streets. The strikes of the past weeks and months have shown that we can paralyze large parts of the country if we want to.

Yet, the German state tries to prevent the union of even larger parts of society with all means at its disposal. Agitation against strikers, bans on activity for political activists, racist incitement, and increasing repression against all those who hold positions unpopular with the state and speak out about it: the fault lies with the system!

Our answer: Socialism!

We cannot overcome these wars and crises under capitalism. Revolutionaries around the world have recognized this before us and even today. An economic system based on exploitation, land theft, and the destruction of our livelihood inevitably leads to war again and again.

But once we have recognized the cause, the perspective also reveals itself to us: a socialist social system, in which the state is in the hands of the majority, the working class. In which production is based on our needs, not on profit. In which we collectively determine society and politicians like Scholz or Baerbock no longer pose as our representatives. In which we no longer see politics as something separate from our lives but as a conscious and active part of political, social, and cultural decisions.

If we recognize all these injustices today, we must not bury our heads in the sand. Rather, we should take these crises as an incentive to strive for a better world, socialism, and take to the streets. So let’s join the international struggles against war and capital!

For all progressive, anticapitalist, revolutionary, and socialist forces, it must be said:

Into the socialist bloc!“
